1. What do Dental Office Chairside Assistants do?
Dental Assistants perform a variety of client care, office, and laboratory duties.  They work chairside as dentists examine and treat clients.  They make clients as comfortable as possible in the dental chair, prepare them for treatment, and obtain their dental records.  Assistants hand instruments and materials to dentist and keep clients? mouths dry and clear by using suction or other devices.  Assistants also sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment, prepare trays of instruments for dental procedures, and instruct clients on postoperative and general oral health care.  Some dental assistants prepare materials for impressions and restorations, take dental x-rays, and process x-ray film as directed by a dentist.   T
 
2. How long will it take to complete the Dental Office Chairside Assistant Level 1 Program?
The Dental Office Chairside Assistant Level 1 program consists of 30 weeks of theoretical and practical training. Spaced breaks appear for independent study and holidays. The total program consists of 750 (plus) hours with the subject matter arranged to provide the most sequential flow of information. The Dental Office Chairside Assisting program is Monday through Friday.
 
3. How long will it take to complete the Dental Office Chairside Assistant Intra Oral Level II  Program?
The Dental Office Chairside Assistant Level 2 program is a continuing education direct entry course.  Spaced breaks may appear for independent study and holidays. The total course consists of 75 (plus) hours with the subject matter arranged to provide the most sequential flow of information.
 
4. What is the  field placements for the Dental Office Chairside Assistant Program?
The Dental Office Chairside Assisting students have their placements at the end of the program.
 
5. Upon successful completion of the Dental Office Chairside Assistant Level 1 , will I be eligible to write any provincial certification exams?
Upon successful completion of the Dental Office Chair side Assistant program, the graduate is eligible to write the ODAA (Ontario Dental Assistant Association) certification exam.
 
6. Upon successful completion of the Intra Oral Level ll program, will I be eligible to write any provincial certification exams?
The graduates are eligable to write the NDAEB certificate exam.
